Lichen Ecology
Shelly Benson, lichenologist and founder of Benson Bio Consulting, is interested in using lichens as biological indicators of nitrogen pollution and climate change. Currently, her focus is on lichens that grow in California’s coastal fog zone. She has two ongoing research projects that collect community sourced observation data from iNaturalist:
